There was a hiccup this month and it sent out last month’s update to everyone’s emails. Hopefully i’ve fixed it. Sorry about that!
When it works (just kidding i fixed it, it will work!) you can get this monthly post via email (which also enters you into a free art giveaway) or by trusty ol’ RSS. Social media is too corporate for me to enjoy it–or lately, to trust it–and this is a more direct way of keeping in touch. If you hit reply on the email, it’ll go to me, not a robot. I’ll even respond, and i will probably not send you a photo of me half-dressed and holding a crustacean the size of my head.

Art
Not a lot, but here were some of my favorites…
- I joined an art challenge called March of Animals, and was supposed to draw an animal every day. I chose to start my bird journal with photo-referenced sketches of the birds that inspired me to keep one in the first place. As you can see, i managed six. Kind of. Ahahaha!
- The person dragging the sack came to me randomly while i was working, and i scribbled these potential value maps during a Jitsi meeting. I don’t know what’s in the sack–feel free to tell me
I also posted some Art Confetti™ on Cara.app and had people guess which one of the doodles i didn’t have to force myself to draw. That ended up being a fun game!
News
- I’m likely not moving out just yet, and while i am not looking forward to another miserable summer, i do get to spend more time with people i love 🙂
- I have a new, recurring freelance gig that should free up a few hours a week i would have otherwise spent scrambling for work. I am so excited to be researching pet advice, especially preventative injury and illness care!
- My phone is broken and even though i did purchase a new (to me) one, i’ve been too busy to set it up
Pet Tax
With my phone out of commission, the only photos have been from my elderly Sony Cybershot digital camera.
We have Watson in snow, Cedar in snow, both of them on a picnic so Cedar can practice lying down while Stuff Is Happening Nearby, and i caught Cedar mirroring Luci on the bed in the middle of the night. Just like people, dogs sometimes mirror the pose and body language of someone they hope will like them ❥
Anecdote
Who among us hasn’t hung out at a public boat launch at night without any pants, completely sober, while proposing marriage to a live crab?
