This is the one year anniversary of these hindsight posts! WOOHOO!
You can get these roundups of my art, pets, and life stuff sent to you via email (which gives you a free entry into an art giveaway) or by using good ol’ RSS. I really want to keep in touch with people who share my interests, so if you like my art, my pets, or for some reason me, feel free to respond with an update of your own! ❥
Art
My brain works pretty well for most of the year, but summer is a cognitive mire for me. I’m actually really pleased with at least one of these (i’ll let you guess which one).

Those grass sketches are from the path i walk most mornings. I’m trying to become more aware of the plants around me.
News
- My shop broke
- Then i fixed my shop
- I discovered a meathack (knock on wood!) for tricking my body into not realizing when it’s 37C/99F outside. I’m still testing it, but pointing a fan directly at me and then playing rainstorm noises in my headphones worked so far?
Pet Tax

- Juniper likes to hang out with me while i work, but if you didn’t realize, i am very boring
- Cedar was hiding from his cousin Echo, who loves him but sometimes plays too rough. Yet when i referee, Cedar often darts out from behind me and goes back for more lol
- Two idiots snoozing in the horrid sun. FREAKS
- Watson chomping on a raw frozen beef bone, which is how we help them beat the heat
- Horrifying cryptid spotted in basement bedroom, imitates family cat to get free snacks. So many free snacks
Anecdote
When i was eleven i went on a YMCA trip to Orcas Island. Five minutes after our ferry left the dock, authorities cancelled all marine travel because of dangerous conditions. The storm that had already been pouring down on us for hours was getting rowdier.
If you’ve ever been on one of those big-ass ferries with three car decks, you know that usually you can’t even tell you’re on a boat–they don’t rock in the waves. Well, this time, the ferry was pitching so hard that there was sea water sloshing onto the lowest car deck.
Us kids were soaking wet when we got into the passenger deck, and the linoleum floor was also wet. So we were skating on our sneakers! It was one of the most fun things i’ve ever experienced to this day, skating up and down a ghost town of a ferry on the soles of my shoes. 10/10 would do again.
We’d all been in the car for two hours, though, and we had to pee so bad. The bathroom was just as slippery as the other floors.
…I don’t remember how much i peed on my shoes, but i definitely peed on my shoes.

Congratulations to July’s winner, who has already been notified. Here is the prize from May:

May’s winner had it framed! But she would murder me if i showed you her desk, so you’ll just have to imagine it. It looks great.
And here’s June:

Merch
Since my shop was borked this month, even though it’s fixed now, i had already decided to send you to ChibiYeti! It’s an online shop full of cool stuff from two other indie artists who do all their own work (including the screen printing!). They carry some of my merch but more importantly, their own fabulous designs:

Poke around and if you buy something, tell them i sent you! Not because i get kickbacks or anything, just because it will make their day. ❥
